New Home Card

Well, my blogging record isn't great as yet this year!  Here's a new style of card for me that I made at the weekend for someone who has just moved home. I had been looking at bendifold cards on the Splitcoast Stampers site.  They have a great tutorial here.  I was then browsing the Silhouette Cameo online store and noticed that they had a bendifold download so I just had to buy it.  They have several different styles, this one is 'bendycard with fence'.  While there I popped two more designs '4 houses and 6 tree set' in the basket and here's the card I made with them all.  The designs were cut from First Edition pads, Spring Drop and Owl.  The card is Anna Marie's Kraft card.  I used Tattered Lace sentiment dies for the greetings. A little Star Dust stickles glitzed it up. I loved the way it all came out, I cut it from A4 card and it fitted nicely into a 6x6 envelope, just!

First Card Of 2014 !

Well, after much oomphing and ah-ring I've finally got my picture uploader to work.  I've been using Firefox as my search engine but when I went to use 'upload a photo' on blogger it wouldn't come up, just an error message.  So having decided to blog again I was quite miffed to find it didn't work.  I have a school blog too so am pleased/relieved to find that it works on Google Chrome.
So my first card of the year is an 8 x 8 inch card for my Aunt's 80th Birthday next week.

Recipe
I cut everything out using the Cameo.  I used Anna Marie's white stamping card but found that it left a lot of snags (probably being coated card) so if anyone knows anything better I would be grateful. I had the blade setting on 10 and the speed on 3 as it's very intricate but even then not all the cuts were clean. I like using a thickish card as it's more substantial.
The roses are from the Silhouette Store and the heart layers, butterflies and middle frames are by Tina Fallon at CraftsUPrint. The sentiment is made from a font on my computer, that's why I love the Cameo, the freedom to design for yourself. I've raised all the layers on foam pads to add more dimension. The butterflies are glittered with diamond sparkle glitter (it doesn't really show on the photo)..
I did think about entering this into a challenge but haven't decided yet which ones I will do this year, I think I'll aim for just a couple to begin with so that I'll be able to keep it up! We will see.  Thanks for looking!

p.s.  Thanks for the Xmas card Squirrel and your lovely comment xxxxx

January 2014!

Happy New Year Everyone!
I think it's about time to start blogging again, especially after my dismal attempts last year.  Life has gone by since I was last here without any major changes, just another year older but probably not wiser.
I had several fantastic holidays last year and have hundreds of photos all awaiting to be blogged and made into scrapbook pages.  I'm still card making, rubber stamping, die-cutting, jewellery making and have discovered gelli-plate printing amongst other things.  I have amassed a crafty stash that takes up half the house (well it feels like it does!)  I have two Cricuts which have unfortunately now taken a back seat to a Cameo. (I'd recommend a Cameo above a Cricut anyday now although they both fulfill different needs!)  I have been sewing and knitting and am now the proud owner of a Kenwood Chef (supposed to be dieting but have had a lot of fun baking over xmas!) Unfortunately none of this has appeared on my blog during the last year......so hopefully my resolution of 2014 is to make more of an effort and to show you what I'm up to. This is a new start so watch this space (she says with fingers crossed!)
