Just popping in to tell you about the fab candy being offered ny Kellie at :http://www.kelliewinnell.com.au/?p=4177

Isn't it just fab! I'm not that lucky when it comes to winning things but I wouldn't mind getting my mitts on this! Keeping fingers toes and everything else firmly crossed! (Makes crafting tricky though!) It's open until Thursday 18th Feb so you have loads of time to enter. Good luck everyone - well not that good 'cos I want it!! lol

Oh and I know I'm a rotten blogger, sorry, :( Hope you haven't missed me too much, lol. I've got a few cards to post so will go and check out the photos and get them on here soon.

Not a card!

This is the latest display I made for our school library entitled 'Hot Books for Cold Days'. Not my idea originally but I adapted it for us. I made the fire from an old cardboard box for a school production of Scrooge a few years ago and saved it as I thought it might come in handy again. I constructed a surround and mantlepiece around it from card, boxes and sugarpaper and added a paper rug! . Notice my favourite characters in a frame on the mantlepiece! I then tried to find red covered books and those about hot, fire etc in the library but seeing as we've just had an audit and lost around 300 books it was a bit of a search!! lol For Christmas I decorated it with tinsel and had 2 stockings hanging next to the fire. I wished that the fire worked for the last week or so, it's been jolly cold in school and I would have just loved to have curled up in front of it with a good book!! lol

ABC Christmas Challenge Blog - A is for Angels.

Here is my card for the first challenge of this blog - A is for Angels. First, it's a little rushed but I was determined to do at least one! I struggled for an angel and then remembered my Christmas Dottie downloads so hope this counts. I coloured her with Promarkers again and sprinkled glamour dust on her wings and mounted her on nestie ovals. I hadn't got any Xmas charms so used seed beads and wire to make her belt. The snowflake is my new spellbinders dies - first time I've used them and I love it. The background is a Crafts Too embossing folder used on Coredinations whitewashed cardstock and sanded. A doodled border, silver ribbon, craftwork cards sentiment and pearls (my favourite at the moment) finish it off.

Thinking of You.

Hubby asked me to make a card for his department to sign for a colleague whose partner has just miscarried. A difficult card to make and one that I had little time to do so I came up with this simple design tonight. I used a Penny Black stamp (Gossamer) and promarkers, decoupaged two of the flowers and mounted it on nesties. The flourishes and sentiment (HOTP) are stamped. Pearls finish the design.

ABC Christmas Challenge Blog.

I've just added this challenge to my sidebar, another one I shall try to enter this year, don't hold your breath though!! I have turned off my comment verification as requested. Now that is one thing I can do! lol

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #23 and Cute Card Thursday Challenge #94.

Well Happy New Year everyone. Hope everyone is healthy, happy and well. My resolutions this year are to use up my craft stash, to use all the tools I have and to try and be a better blogger so as I haven't been here for ages I thought I'd start this year off with a couple challenge entries.

As I had to make a card for my Aunt's birthday I thought I'd use a challenge sketch. The Truly Scrumptious challenge sketch this week caught my eye so here's my card. The additional challenge was to use pink, green and black. I've used my new and first gorgeous stamp from Lili of the Valley - Faries on Tiptoe so am also going to enter it into the Cute Card Thursday challenge as well. They wanted something new on a card. I had to buy a couple of L.o.t.V stamps for a friend for Christmas and of course two fell into my basket as well!

I have stamped and coloured the image with Promarkers/Copics and then glittered her with glamour dust. She is matted onto octagonal nesties run through a cuttlebug tapestry folder (must use these more often). The paper is from Basic Grey and I have stamped flourishes from Hot of the Press in black ink. It's finished with pearls, flowers from Poppicrafts and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
