Catty books Display!!

Whilst tidying the school library I noticed that we had quite a few cat books/stories so I made a little display with them with some pawprints. Someone keeps treading on my mousehole though, painful, lol!! I've hidden a little mouse in the library too for the children to find. He's in the Mammals section but no-one has spotted him yet!! lol..... shh don't tell!!

Autumn Library Display.

This is a quick display I made for the start of the Autumn term to coincide with Roald Dahl Day. I made a big Wonka Bar (on the left) in which I collected votes for the children's favourite Roald Dahl story. The winner was 'The Twits'!!

(I quite like this one too, although I voted for 'Danny Champion of the World'. I loved the bit where they put the sleeping tablets in the raisins!)

Finished!

Well, that was all my latest cards. I have two urgent ones to make now so must dash off and start them. I will be posting something exciting this week on here when I get my act together so please keep popping back and checking!! Watch this space!!

Sympathy card for a young girl.

This was a hard card to make and I must admit I had a little tear when I finished the verse inside. I had to make this for my hubby to give to the family of the young 14 year old girl who died in Coventry after having her cervical cancer jab. How distraught must her parents be. Her stepdad worked with my hubby for a while. I didn't want to make it too black and morbid but wanted to keep it simple so chose my Penny Black 'Fanfare' stamp, embossed it in black and watercoloured coloured the flowers pink. I printed the sentiment on the computer. I hope it will be ok.

Dottie, New Job!

I had to make a card for someone starting a new job in the policeforce so I remembered I had a Dottie download from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I coloured her with Promarkers again and used DCWV papers for the backing. Black and silver peeloffs and silver glitter dots finish it off.

National Cardmaking Day!

I made a card for Paulinexx over at Docrafts for National Carmaking Day. I used a Miss Anja image from the Rain, Snow, Shine set, coloured with Promarkers and Copics. I mounted this on Nestabilities ovals and decorated the edge with a Sakura pen. The Bp is from Basic Grey which I over stamped twice with two shades of pink and a Personal Impressions flourish stamp. The middle layer is coloured with a Whispers ink pad and embossed with Snowflake dots. I used a chipboard flower which I coloured and glittered to embellish it with a brad. Letters from DCWV and glitterdots from Papermania. The middle band is a piece of ribbon from Crafty Ribbons (a great ribbon shop online.)

Docrafts September Friendship Card.

I made this card for 'Handmadebybianca' for the September card swap over at Docrafts. I used my 'His and Hers' collection Cd from Pink Petticoat to print on both sides of the card. I used my Housemouse stamp 'Give you my heart' which I coloured with watercolours. I glazed the tulips with glossy accents. The edges are a Martha Stewart punch - scalloped dot. The sentiments were from a mini set I got somewhere (possibly Dovecraft)!! I threaded ribbon through the corner eyelets. This design was inspired by Peter's (A man alone) cards on Docrafts.

Gardening Card/Thinking of You.

A friend wanted a card for a friend who likes gardening but has just had an operation for cancer
so she wanted something special but not too ott. I used a stamp of garden tools which I've only ever used once before and watercoloured it this time. I glazed it with glossy accents - not quite dry in this pic so looks a bit cloudy. I used my SeeD's Morsels to stamp around the edges and finished it off with Prima flowers and a butterfly charm.

My DC Friend 'Squirrel 10 ! '

This is my friend Squirrel deciding whether she should go to the 'Glitter Pot' and increase her craft stash or make a load of cards instead. She's really trying hard to take a craft buying break but that didn't stop her pinching my nuts this week!! Squirrel you know who you are!! (I'd go if it was me, Glitter Pot or 30 cards - no contest!!!) lol xx

Our Lazy foxes!!

Here are two of 'our' foxes lazing around at the top of our garden in the sun last week. I thought they'd moved on but two of them were out again this morning (Sunday). Unfortunately I had to disturb their nap as I needed to put the washing out lol!!

Tina Wenke Birthday.

This card was for a my school friend Carol's birthday, there's been loads lately and I must have about 8 to make this month as well!! I really love this stamp by Tina Wenke called Orange Flower, it's such a cutie, although this one I coloured pink!

I used Basic Grey paper from the 'Sugared' collection and my Prima hydrangeas for decoration, held together wth Papermania jewel brads. I coloured the image with my Promarkers, I find detail tricky as the nibs aren't so fine so I have strayed over the edges a bit. I highlighted it with a glitter sakura pen. The corners were punched with my Martha Stewart border punch. If you look through the back you can manage to punch out a single heart in the corner and I love the little holes that are left. Being lazy I used a peeloff greeting!

Jolly Nation Birthday.

This is a quick card made with a decoupage image from Jolly Nation which I made for a school colleagues birthday. I just added a few peeloffs to cheer it up a bit!

Anybody seen Shaun?

I snapped these little chaps when we went for a walk around Burton Dassett Hills Country Park in South Warwickshire at the weekend.
