My MiL's Birthday Card.

I had to make this one really quick in the hour before we went up to visit my Mother in Law. Hence it's quite simple. The stamped image is from Penny Black - Fanfare 3946K. I just love this stamp. I stamped it and watercoloured it first and then stamped the flower heads again in black sparkle powder. I watercoloured these and then decoupaged them over the first image. The sentiment was free from Papermania and the lettering was the alphabet which came with my pink Quickcutz Squeeze.

Uma's Challenge!

I was set a challenge by a friend to make a curvy card using a template from Louise Bridgden without using either rubber stamping or decoupage. (Now that 'is' a challenge!) I chose to make this my first Christmas card of the year. The background is a free download from Canon Creative Park :

There's a really great section of A4 papers here all for free. I used my cropodile to add some ribbons to the side and some flowers from Poppicrafts. The snowflake brads were from a set by Papermania. I added a couple of tags (Woodware punch) and a peeloff greeting. It was quite fiddly to make and next time I think I'll try doing it A4 sized instead.

Docrafts 'July' friendship swap card!

I really enjoyed making this, it's so simple but looks so effective (well I think so)! I made mine bigger than the instructions say.

I made this card using instructions here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/flowerpotpocket

I used Bazzill card and Basic Grey paper from the Two Scoops pack. The border is a Martha Stewart valentine heart punch ( Note to self, watch the edge - I cut off too much of one heart!!) and the flowers and ribbon were from Poppicrafts. I stamped the sentiment on the inside card. The outside sentiment is from a set of stamps by 'Scrappycat'. Martha Stewart butterflies and Stickles glue finish it off. I made this card for Alison13 over at Docrafts, hope she likes it!

Our Family!

Here we all are visiting my hubby's Mum at the weekend in her care home for her birthday which will be next Wednesday. She is our only surviving parent/grandparent. Happy Birthday Mum xxxxxxx

Patchwork Pals!

Three simple cards for three children that gave me presents this summer at school. For the boys I used my new Patchwork Pals stamps from QVC. As these were for the kids they were really quick ones!! I think I'm going to like these stamps. I'm waiting for the 'girl' ones to come!!

Get Well Cards.

I had to make two get well cards last week so carried on with the step theme and made these. Both use my 'Tilda with Bee' stamp and 'Double Delights' bees. I'm enjoying making this style of card. I've still got a DC Friendship card to do (Alison I haven't forgotten you if you read this) so may use this design again as it's so easy!

My First Library Display Ever!!

This is the display I made for the last summer half term for our school library noticeboard. It's not a very big board, it's covered with blue hessian stuff and it's in an awkward place!! Saying that this is what I came up with. The letter stencils we have are different sizes so that didn't help much either!! I made the picture as a collage, copying but changing it slightly, the painting 'A Bigger Splash' by David Hockney. I added a person diving into the water (my white Sakura pen came in handy!). I had to hunt around the library for summer related books but only had a table to put them on. Hopefully if I get a real chance in the library I'll be able to get some decent display shelves. Not sure how likely this will be as I'm still not clear about how much of a role I've got as library assistant.

Watch this space!

A different Stepped card!

This is Squirrel's (PBFC) birthday card. I decided to change the design slightly as I didn't like the side panel on the last card. I mounted the 'Tilda with Bee' image onto Octagon Nestabilities, and coloured her with Promarkers, likewise the bees. The 'grass' is cut from a Martha Stewart Scalloped Dot punch and the bees are Kay Carly stamps from the Stampman (Aspects of Design - Double Delights) I thought these all went well together. Poppicraft flowers, hobbycraft ribbon, free greeting stamp from Papermania and Stickles Diamond glitter glue complete the card.

PBFC Side Stepped Birthday card.

This is the card I made for my friend Samantha. It's the first side step card I have made. The image is a Penny Black stamp 'Roses for You' coloured with aqua paints and then glossy accents. Paper from Papermania 'Blueberry Hill', flowers and ribbon from Poppicrafts ( they've stopped selling flowers now - shame). The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch and the gems are from Lakeland (they've stopped doing craft stuff too!).

A4 Ist Birthday Card.

This is a large card I made for my teacher's daughter's first birthday. I used some Patchwork Pals decoupage from QVC. The flower is from Poppicrafts, I made the number on the computer and cut out the lettering from the sizzix alphabet set - bloc party. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.

Two cards made for school!

This one I made for a teacher who is leaving her class to take up a job on a Maths project teaching throughout the local area!

This one was a Flippin Women decoupage made for a fellow TA who is leaving work through ill health. She is an extremely crafty lady!

Here's a foxy photo from earlier in the week!

I took these photos at the beginning of the week before we made the video. Now that the school holidays are here we are really going to have to investigate what 'is' going on at the top of our garden!!

Fox News Exclusive!!

While I was at work this morning hubby, who is on school holidays, managed to video our little garden visitor. We saw one fox last week, I'll add some photos later this week, but we had thought that they had all gone. Not sure if they're living up the garden still or just visiting in the mornings/evenings. This was taken around 10:30 this morning and there were actually two (mum and baby we think) but the mum ran off when he got the camera out! I really hope this has worked and you can see him/her!! The sound is a plane flying over, foxy actually watches it go by! Enjoy,

Don't Laugh!

My class went to Drayton Manor theme park on Friday so here's a pic of me and our Rachel to prove we went! We had a great day, the weather was fine especially after all the rain of the previous week. I went on Stormforce 10 for the first time but had my eyes shut on the steep bits lol!! We got drenched. We scared a few in the haunted house but the kids really enjoyed themselves which was the main thing!

Gorjuss Girl Birthday.

This is the card I made for my cousin's birthday. She has gorgeous ginger hair so I used colours to reflect this. The stamp is a Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie, coloured with Promarkers. The backing paper is from Papermania (Blueberry Hill, my favourite at the moment). Flower and ribbon from Poppicrafts. I used a woodware heart punch for the hearts and Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies and the hearts border. Gems were from Lakeland, such a shame they stopped their craft lines.

New Baby Card No 3.

Used my sizzix baby blocks for this one and the swiss dots folder for the background. It's funny, all three babies were boys!

New Baby Card No 2.

Sorry about the poor quality photo, don't know what happened here!

I've had three cards to make for three new babies over the last few weeks so here's the second one. This was a simple one using a sizzix 'onesie' die which I used in the cuttlebug. Swiss dots background and my quikcutz alphabet.
