Teacher Birthday

A simple 'George' card for a teacher's birthday. I used glossy accents on the apples, promarkers and Papermania paper.

Retirement

I made this card for our school staff to sign for a member of staff who is retiring from our Hearing Impaired Unit this Christmas. I used British Sign Language to write the sentiment!

Two card orders.

I was asked to make 2 cards this week, one for a birthday in Las Vegas at Christmas and one for a Christmas card for a carpenter! I could have put Mary and Joseph on it but I used a George download instead!! lol

New Home

A new home card using Hobby Art stamps, clear embossing and a brayer. I love the effect of the resist embossing on this one.

Papermania Bauble Stamp.

I'm going to use this for my special cards this year, I've only made one so far! Stamped and embossed with glitter powder and highlighted with stickles.

This year's Xmas cards.

This is the card I've been making for xmas this year, simple stamp (Inkadinkadoo - English Robin), coloured and glittered. I've made 15 so far but 5 got sent off to soldiers in Afghanistan so have still got loads more to do! I've been varying the colour of the greetings and snowflakes.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge # 77

I had to make a Birthday card this week so thought I'd enter it into this challenge as I liked the sketch that Beth has done. I used a stamped image (from a friend, many thanks) called 'Amore' which I coloured with Promarkers. The flowers are glittered with a sakura pen. I used Basic Grey 'Eva' paper for the patterned squares edged with a pink inkpad and the pink ones are embossed with the 'Snowflakes' folder on the Cuttlebug. These are random dots and not snowflakes at all. I used square gems to embellish the image. The sentiment from Craftwork Cards was mounted on 5 green circles to make a flower. I used a piece of flowery ribbon and gems in the corners to finish it. Pity it's not a Xmas card!! I have so many yet to do!

Stamped Picture.

As I've been neglecting my blog again I thought I'd show you what I've done instead! I've been having a little play with my stamps and brayer (not making Xmas cards, oh dear) and came up with this picture which I've given to my Headteacher to remind her to slow down!! We've just had a mini Ofsted inspection and she's been tearing around everywhere! I brayered the background although you can't see it much. The trees are Crafty Individuals 'Hug a Tree' stamps and the flowers are from a Graphicus Wild Flower themeplate. The birds are a Clarity stamp. I used a Big and Juicy 'Foliage' inkpad. The sentiment is computer generated. I wish I'd done it on glossy card but I was quite pleased with the result. She has it hanging on her office wall!

Retirement - Put Your Feet Up!

This card was made for a friend who is retiring on her 60th birthday. I used my Penny Black 'Kickin' stamp again and coloured and decoupaged it as before. I mounted it on Nellie Snellen ovals again (I do like these!) The backing paper is Basic Grey. I've glittered the Prima flowers, used Lakeland gems and printed the sentiment on the computer.

Quacky Birthday!

This is the card I made for my friend's birthday. She is a fellow crafter too so I wanted to make it a good one! The image is a Penny Black stamp called 'Duckling' which I coloured with Promarkers, Glossy Accents and decoupaged. I mounted it on my Nellie Snellen ovals and Nesties again onto some yellow cardstock edged with ribbon and a scalloped Martha Stewart punch. Prima flowers, Glitter, Pearls and Lakeland gems embellish it. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards

Graphicus November Challenge - Resistance Is Futile!

Well, I thought as I haven't made many Xmas cards yet I'd make this one do for a challenge as well. The Graphicus November challenge was to make something using resist technique and 'metallics'.

I have used the 'Following Yonder Star' themeplate from Elusive Images and resist embossed the words and star onto glossy card using versamark ink. I have brayered over this with a speedball brayer and a 'Big and Juicy' Waterfall ink pad. The Kings image was embossed in gold and then watercoloured with Derwent Inktense pencils. I cut this out and mounted it on corrugated card. The card has been embellished with ribbon, gold card candy 'rivets' and gold snowflake punches.

I've now made four Xmas cards so far this year!!! Oh heck, please hold back Xmas for me!! lol

Penny Black Saturday Challenge #74

Thought I'd enter a challenge this weekend so have made this card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. The challenge was to make a card linked to a song title/lyric. I have called this:

'Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon'

which was a track by Queen on their 'Night at the Opera ' Album.

I used a stamp called 'Kickin' and decoupaged my image three times onto two Nellie Snellen Frames which I cut in my Cuttlebug. These are great dies and half the price of Nesties. I coloured it with copics. I added a greeting from Craftwork cards. I finished it off with a Prima flower and some ribbon and flatbacked pearls.

Blog Candy Giveaway! Now Closed - we have a winner!

Well, here goes let's hope this works as I'm not too hot at blogging and linkey's!! To celebrate my 2000th hit (a little later than it happened) and my birthday next Sunday (18th Oct) I have decided to post some 'Blog Candy'. Now I'm not that brilliant at this so I do hope that it looks ok!! To qualify all I ask is that you link this back to your blog (if the linky thing works) and put up a post or a notice on your side bar and then leave me a comment (so as I know who you are). It would be nice if you would become a follower of this blog ( I don't get many) but that's up to you! I'll leave this post at the top ( somehow!!) and will close the candy on Sunday 1st November. I won't be around for the last week of Oct so I'll randomly chose the winner after this date. Good luck everyone - there's all sorts of bits and bobs included ( Paper, flowers, a little selection of stampboard and brooch backs, a little square of acrylic to stamp on, some stickers/peeloffs, brads to name a few.) Now off to see how to make this stay on the top!!

Catty books Display!!

Whilst tidying the school library I noticed that we had quite a few cat books/stories so I made a little display with them with some pawprints. Someone keeps treading on my mousehole though, painful, lol!! I've hidden a little mouse in the library too for the children to find. He's in the Mammals section but no-one has spotted him yet!! lol..... shh don't tell!!

Autumn Library Display.

This is a quick display I made for the start of the Autumn term to coincide with Roald Dahl Day. I made a big Wonka Bar (on the left) in which I collected votes for the children's favourite Roald Dahl story. The winner was 'The Twits'!!

(I quite like this one too, although I voted for 'Danny Champion of the World'. I loved the bit where they put the sleeping tablets in the raisins!)

Finished!

Well, that was all my latest cards. I have two urgent ones to make now so must dash off and start them. I will be posting something exciting this week on here when I get my act together so please keep popping back and checking!! Watch this space!!

Sympathy card for a young girl.

This was a hard card to make and I must admit I had a little tear when I finished the verse inside. I had to make this for my hubby to give to the family of the young 14 year old girl who died in Coventry after having her cervical cancer jab. How distraught must her parents be. Her stepdad worked with my hubby for a while. I didn't want to make it too black and morbid but wanted to keep it simple so chose my Penny Black 'Fanfare' stamp, embossed it in black and watercoloured coloured the flowers pink. I printed the sentiment on the computer. I hope it will be ok.

Dottie, New Job!

I had to make a card for someone starting a new job in the policeforce so I remembered I had a Dottie download from Charmed Cards and Crafts. I coloured her with Promarkers again and used DCWV papers for the backing. Black and silver peeloffs and silver glitter dots finish it off.
